Because sometimes we all deserve some relief from the 9-5 office grind.

1. Hit the snooze button

You’ve been waking up at the same ungodly hour like clockwork (no pun intended) for as long as you can remember. It’s time for an epic lay-in.

 

2. Switch up your wardrobe

Yes, some offices stipulate a dress code but that doesn’t mean you have to repeat the same five outfits every week. Dig deep into the back of your wardrobe. There’s a chance you’ll find some great items that you’d totally forgotten about.

 

3. Plan your journey entertainment

Are you going to start reading a new book this morning or have you already downloaded an episode of your favourite show to watch on your way in? Perhaps you could trial some new games on your phone/tablet or test out a useful app you’ve been wanting to try.

 

4. Grab an issue of Stylist Magazine

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Stylist is available every Wednesday. Perfect mid-week reading material for commuters.

 

5. Take a leisurely lunch

Step away from your desk, meet up with your favourite colleagues and, dare I say it, go outside for the entirety of your lunch break. If nothing else you’ll get a chance to take your mind off work, or blow off some steam if you’re having a particularly stressful week.

 

6. Rearrange your workspace

If you work in an office you spend at least seven hours a day sitting at your workspace so it’s worth adding a few personal touches to truly make it your own.

 

7. Indulge in a late afternoon treat

Forget that you’re ‘too busy’ to spare yourself a few minutes to run to the shop, or that you’re trying to ‘be good’ with your diet. A Pain Au Raisin from Pret can brighten up even the dullest of afternoons.

 

8. Get social

Who says after work socials can only be planned for payday or Fridays? Help lift your team’s sprits by suggesting an impromptu post work drink.

 

9. Skip your gym class

10. Don’t stay up past bedtime
