New documentary urges women to ‘Go Against the Flow’ and start a business

Charu Sharma

Filmmaker Charu Sharma, 24, is the creator of an inspiring new documentary which she hopes will encourage women to take their first steps into entrepreneurship. In Go Against the Flow, we hear from a talented pool of female business owners who talk candidly about their journeys to success, including the setbacks they encountered along the way.

Businesswomen spotlighted in the film include Noor Siddiqui, founder and CEO of Remedy Inc., Jessica Scorpio, co-founder of Getaround and Angie Chang, founder of Women 2.0.

“It’s meant to be inspirational, to let viewers see what other women have done. And it’s prescriptional. Here’s how to hire, how to build technology,” said Charu.

Her own story is an impressive one. Whilst still in college she founded two startups before landing a role as a sales development specialist at LinkedIn.

Go Against the Flow isn’t just a documentary, it’s a movement whose vision is about “Empowering women to pioneer their own destinies”.
