Jessica Alba, the Hollywood actress turned beauty entrepreneur has plenty to celebrate. The eco-friendly Honest Company, that she co-founded in 2011, was valued at $1billion last year and has expanded from a baby-product range to a broader wellness, beauty and cosmetic brand.
Despite the company’s achievements Jessica admits that she faced some inevitable challenges on the road to success. The biggest one? “Being taken seriously!” she told Be.
“Overcoming this challenge meant refining my concept, knowing the space in the marketplace better than anyone and shaping my vision around specific, sustainable and scalable business goals,” she explained.
And what advice does she have for others travelling the often tenuous path to entrepreneurship? ”Never underestimate yourself. Of all the voices you’ll hear along the way, the most important to listen to is your own.” LLY
