The Telegraph is calling for entries for its 2018 Cassandra Jardine Memorial Prize. First launched in 2013, a year after the death of longstanding Telegraph journalist Jardine, the competition is open to women aged 18-25 and has previously been won by journalist and bestselling author Dolly Alderton.
In addition to the age specification, entry criteria states that:
- Entrants should submit a feature article of between 1,500 and 2,000 words on any subject of their choice.
- Judges will be looking for evidence of the writer’s intelligence, personality and prose style.
- Entries must be sent as an email or a Word attachment.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on 28 January 2019. Applications must be sent to cassandrajardineprize@ telegraph.co.uk with your name in the subject field.
The winner will be announced before the end of February 2019 and will receive a £1,000 prize. Two runners-up will win f £300 each.
