Along with the videos, articles and social media posts that are bursting with tips, ideas and guidance, podcasts are another fantastic way to consume quality career-related content. Here are 5 career-changing podcasts by and for modern working women:  

1. In Good Company, hosted by Otegha Uwagba

In Good Company is brought to you by Otegha Uwagba, founder of the creative working women’s community, Women Who, and author of Little Black Book: A Toolkit for Working Women. The monthly podcast offers practical career advice and predominantly features interviews with female founders and freelancers. It also features an agony aunt-style ‘Ask Otegha’ segment, where the host answers listeners’ most pressing career dilemmas.

2. Side Hustle Pro, hosted by Nicaila Matthews Okome

Side Hustle Pro‘s founder Nicaila Matthews Okome, turned into a side hustle pro herself after she became a full-time entrepreneur in November 2017. As well as interviewing different female business owners on her weekly podcast, she also dedicates special episodes to sharing her personal experiences of being her own boss called ‘Entrepreneur Diaries’.

3. WorkParty, hosted by Jaclyn Johnson

Launched in partnership with LinkedIn, the first season of the WorkParty podcast was introduced after host Jaclyn Johnson released the WorkParty book ‘for millennial women who want to create & cultivate the career of their dreams’. It features interviews with different ‘boss ladies’ and has so far explored topics including celebrating failure and perfecting pitches. Johnson is also the creator of the career website and conference Create & Cultivate.

4. The Lifestyle Edit, hosted by Naomi Mdudu

Naomi Mdudu is the founder of career website, The Lifestyle Edit, and the podcast of the same name. Each episode is described as ‘a narrative journey of the triumphs, failures and insights from boundary-pushing creative women who have made their mark’. Mdudu digs into the key strategies that successful female founders implement to elevate their businesses.

5. Girlboss Radio, hosted by Sophia Amoruso

Love it or hate it, Sophia Amoruso has successfully solidified the Girlboss brand as one of the leading names in career guidance for the modern working woman. Along with the book, Netflix series, website and rally event, the Girlboss brand has also spawned its own podcast. With Amoruso at the helm, the podcast is described as being about ‘eschewing polite conversation and extracting solid advice’.
